This page is a tour of the Las Vegas Strip proceeds from the north end to the south end.
The Treasure Island hotel and casino is located at the north end of The Strip, and presents a Pirate Show every 90 minutes starting in the late afternoon and into the evening, so be sure to take in this free show.
The Mirage is home to Sigfried & Roy (the wildcat and magic act), so I bought a US$10 admission to see the dolphins and Sigfried & Roy's Secret Garden. They have several of the very rare white varieties of big cats which they use in their show. The animals appear to be well cared for, and none display any neurotic behavior, which is very reassuring.
The Venetian is brand new hotel development, and is without a doubt the most spectacular on The Strip. Italian columns, tile work, canals complete with gondoliers, and high end shops that easily compete with Caesar's Palace. The Great Hall has a ceiling fresco that is stunningly beautiful. I had a very nice pasta lunch at Zeffirino's - an up-scale Italian restaurant. See photo below - highly recommended!
The Imperial Palace is one of the older hotels and casinos, but don't be fooled by the rather small entranceway off The Strip - is a very busy place. One of the attractions is the Classic and Antique Auto Collection. Be sure you get a free ticket to this attraction from one of the promotions people located just outside the front entrance to the Imperial Palace. There is no need to pay to see the Auto Collection!
Caesars Palace certainly qualifies as a palace - with its fountains and expansive gardens, up-scale shopping and statues. Speaking of statues, many in the shopping promenade area are animated, and suddenly come to life for regular shows throughout the day.
The Paris hotel and casino is another spectacular European themed casino and resort. Of course, the main attraction to this property is the replica of the Eiffel Tower, which "grows" right out of the casino along-side The Strip. Views from the top of the tower are excellent, especially at night. Well worth the $8 admission price.
